Overview


Same sex pairs will battle it out over 4 weeks (4 WOD’s) in this online only competition.

For the entire competition we are giving away a total prize pot of over £3000!

For each weekly WOD we will announce 4 winners across the 4 categories (Male Pairs, Masters Male Pairs, Female Pairs and Masters Female Pairs) with each winning team receiving a prize pot from our event sponsors.

The 4 overall 2015 ICON Online Champions winning teams will each receive a large bundle of prizes from all the event sponsors (sponsors will be announced soon).

General Rules


To participate in the IOC every athlete must agree to all Rules and Policies, without limitation, and all final decisions are strictly made by the IOC official representatives.

There will be 4 categories of athletes, these are:
Male Pairs - 18+
Male Masters Pairs - 35 and Over (referred to as Masters Male)
Female - 18+
Female Masters Pairs – 35 and Over (referred to as Masters Female)

All categories must complete the workouts with the required weights and movement standards as set out in the IOC workouts instructions with no substitutions.

Athletes not completing the workouts as set out by the IOC will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish) against the workout score which will result in a last place finish for that workout.

If an incorrect score is submitted we reserve the right to correct the score or disqualify the athlete from the workout resulting in a DNF score.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
The IOC is designed to be a fun but challenging competition with the below movements been carefully selected*

Lifts including but not limited to the following:
• Olympic Lifting (Clean and Jerk & Snatch).
• Thrusters, Deadlifts, Squats (front, back, overhead) and Shoulder Press.
• Un-assisted bodyweight movements including but not limited to pullups, dips, handstand pushups, toes to bar and box jumps (no muscle ups will be required).
• Cardiovascular exercises may include but be not limited to Running, Rowing, Skipping (no double unders will be required).
*We reserve the right to add or remove any movements to the above list.

Registration Details


Registration for all four categories is free and therefore no refunds or cash values can be exchanged for entry or prizes.

Price - £0.00 (ZERO)

Registration will open May 28th 2015. Entry closes the day before the first score must be submitted (July 5th). No late entries will be accepted.

An athlete can only register once. If you will be 35 years of age or over on the 29nd June 2015, please choose master as your chosen category.

All personal information entered must be correct and must have an active email and phone number. Incorrect information provided may result in an athlete been ineligible to claim their prize.

Entry is open to all countries however, prizes are only available to athletes based in Europe

STANDARD COMPETITION PROCEDURES
The weekly workouts will be released each on a Sunday evening via the ICON Online Championship Website, IOC Facebook page and ICON Nutrition Twitter and Instagram account.

Athletes will have until the 11.59pm the Sunday of the next week to have their scores validated and submitted to the IOC. All valid scores will be then uploaded to the IOC league table.

Scoring / Counting of reps:
We are accepting L1 coaches and qualified Olympic Lifting coaches signing the scorecard to prove they have watched the workout and agree with your reps.

Scores will need to be submitted via the link provided each week on the IOC Facebook page.

Videos: All athletes should record workouts and submit the video link along with their scores to be validated.

The top 10 placing scores in each category will be validated each week.

If a score is deemed incorrect the score will be amended with a point penalty or a DNF will be applied.

The overall winning athletes will need all 4 workouts validated. Failure to provide video proof will result in the next highest placed athlete down the leader board being given the chance to submit their video scores and will take first place instead.

Venue: Workouts can be completed at any venue where the required equipment is available to use as long as a valid coach is available to complete the scoring. It is the sole responsibility of the Athlete to make sure their score is uploaded and verified in a timely manner.

Submissions that are incomplete or not verified will not be accepted. Once the workout closes each week the athlete will not be able to re-submit or adjust their score.
MOVEMENT STANDARDS AND DEMONSTRATIONS
The required movement standards for each weeks workout will be delivered on the WOD Video upon the announcement of the workout.

Written explanation of the movement standard will be shown on the video. If you are unsure of any movement please speak with a qualified coach or contact the IOC team directly before you complete the workout via Facebook or email (IOC@ICONNutrition.co.uk).

Failure to meet these standards during the workout would mean a ‘No Rep’ however, the athlete can still continue on with the workout with no penalty, to try and achieve the required movement standard.

If an athlete fails to complete a movement for example, reaching full extension, then that rep wouldn’t count, but the athlete can continue on to try and get the required movement for the next rep without having to stop and start again.

Failure to meet these standards: If upon validation by the IOC team we notice after submitting your workout an invalid rep we reserve the right to amend the score along with a point penalty or DNF result.
SCORING
For each workout you will receive a point for each position you finish that workout.

For example if you finish 2nd you will receive 2 points, if you finish 200th you will receive 200 points.

The lowest score will win the weekly prize with the lowest overall score of all four workouts winning the overall event in their category.

For example an athlete finishing as below would total 27s points:
Workout 1 – 1st place = 1 Point
Workout 2 – 8th Place = 8 points
Workout 3 – 15th Place = 15 Points
Workout 4 – 3rd Place = 3 Points
Total Score 27 points

Weekly Tie breaker: In the event of a tie for 1st place, a tiebreaker will be used to determine the winner. The tie breaker will be listed on our Facebook page and will vary for each workout. For example the tie breaker could be based on time remaining if more than one athlete has the total score from a set workout.

Overall Winner Tie Breaker: In the event of a tie for 1st place after all four workouts are complete, a one off workout will be released with each athlete given 48 hours to complete and submit their best score along with accompanying video footage. Failure to complete the workout in time or provide the video will result in a DNF.

LEADERBOARD
If a team doesn’t complete a workout or fails to submit their score they will be placed last for that week, but not disqualified from the league. The team will still be eligible for the remaining weekly workout prizes.

We reserve the right to update the leaderboard without notice after scores are validated. The final leaderboard will be announced as completed and winners announced after all four workouts have been completed, scores submitted and validated.
